The world that we must live in until our work is done is becoming increasingly hostile against Biblical values. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to see the signs. I know you are as concerned about this as I am (as a Parent and follower of Christ). This strategy of the enemy isn’t to blatantly expose his will but to subtly and consistently influence our life until we are conformed into the world’s image. If the enemy can squeeze us into his mold, then he knows we will lose our power and influence as kingdom changers.
This Sunday, I want to give you a heads up on a subject that we’ve not been intentional about until we’ve had to pay a high price. This week’s “Elephant in the Church” is titled “The Unmentionables.” It’s an uncomfortable topic for some so I wanted to let you know the agenda for this Sunday. The world has pounded into our minds what is acceptable with preMarital sex, pornography, and what 1 Corinthians 6.18 calls “sins against the body.”
It will not be my motive to make anyone uncomfortable, but we can’t ignore a generation that is confused on this topic. What is right and what is wrong? Why does God prescribe purity before marriage and what does it benefit? My focus will not be on magnifying the sin, but rather what purity can do in our life before both God and Man!
So hear is your “heads up” in case you might need to prepare your family or invite someone to church this Sunday that could glean from this topic. I do expect great things. We’ll pick up where we left off last week with the woman caught in adultry. Let’s launch from the grace empowered words of Jesus that allowed the woman to finally live a life victoriously. She would no longer be someone’s “pawn” or piece of trash. She would be a victorious child of God.
